Specials Price List
On 19th August 2010, the MHRA amended the regulation of advertising unlicensed medicines to allow manufacturers to publish price lists. Please email mailto:pharmaceuticals@moorfields.nhs.uk to request a price list for our ophthalmic specials.
Moorfields Pharmaceuticals support this change and believe it will lead to greater transparency within the industry and provide a useful reference tool when there is a clinical need for an ophthalmic special.

Allergic Conjunctivitis
Allergic conjunctivitis is a common condition that affects as many as 20% of the UK population at some point in their lives. It is now time to start thinking about the summer months when seasonal allergic conjunctivitis caused by sensitivity to grass and tree pollens affects and irritates eyes.
Long term symptom control can be achieved using a topical ocular mast cell stabiliser such as Catacrom® 2% Sodium Cromoglicate. Catacrom® comes in a pack of 30 x 0.3ml unit doses and has the added benefit of being preservative free, minimising irritation to the eye.
Lubristil
Moorfields Pharmaceuticals have launched Lubristil™, a Sodium Hyaluronate eye lubricant, which is considered the gold standard in the management of dry eye conditions. Sodium Hyaluronate is a pure natural polymer which is already present in structures of the human eye. Its ‘viscoelastic’ properties mean it can easily be applied to the surface of the eye to provide a stable coating with lubricating and hydrating properties. This makes it suitable to treat any level of dry eye conditions which are characterised by impaired tear production.

Welcome Back Ilube
For sufferers of abnormal mucus production. Moorfields Pharmaceuticals has relaunched Ilube®, 5% Acetylcysteine eye drops, a unique formulation for the treatment of dry eye syndromes associated with deficient tear secretion and impaired or abnormal mucus production.
Although Ilube® has a solid and steady patient base, there could be patients suffering with excessive mucus on the eye, as a complication of other conditions, who may go untreated.
