Moorfields Pharmaceuticals have relaunched Ilube® Eye Drops.  

Ilube® was previously owned by Alcon and Moorfields Pharmaceuticals acquired Ilube® in 2009. Following improvements to the packaging and acquiring marketing authorisation in the United Kingdom, Moorfields Pharmaceuticals has relaunched ILUBE® as part of its range of specialist treatments for dry eye syndrome and related conditions.

Ilube® Eye Drops are artificial tears with mucolytic and lubricant properties, suitable for the relief of dry eye syndromes associated with deficient tear secretion and impaired or abnormal mucus production.

Acetylcysteine has marked mucolytic properties which reduce the viscosity and tenacity of mucus in the eyes. This combined with the emollient properties of hypromellose, ensures lubrication and soothing relief for dry eye syndromes.

Ilube® is fully reimbursable on the NHS Drug Tariff.

Ilube® can be ordered from pharmaceutical wholesalers such as AAH, Alliance, Sangers and Phoenix as well as directly through the Moorfields Pharmaceuticals Customer Service Team.
